Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, ROMANIA

Post-conference Trip

Trip + Hike on Saturday the 8th of July 2023

The trip will start on Saturday morning and we will be visiting some amazing sites near Cluj-Napoca:

Turda Salt Mine

The special experiences of tourists, the healthy environment, and its magic make Turda Salt Mine one of the biggest tourist destinations in Romania. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come every year to cross the underground salt labyrinth, which takes you into the magical depths. Turda Salt Mine is like a beautiful story, full of mystery and legends.

Trascău Fortress in Colțești

The fortress, which rises stately on the 740 m high hill, being the oldest architectural monument preserved to this day in Transylvania, belonged to the Thoroczkay noble family. The noble family of Thoroczkay first built a refuge fortress on the high rocky mountain of Sekler’s Stone, whose ruins can still be seen today.  The construction of Trascau Fortress dates back to the second half of the 13th century.

The Szekler Mansion in Colțești

A stunning location at the foot of the imposing Szekler Rock, celebrating the architecture and culinary tradition of the villages of Rimetea-Colțești.

Due to the great interest in the trip and our limited spots, the trip is reserved for those of you that already signed up. More specific details of the trip have been sent through email and we will keep you updated.

We will be departing from Cluj-Napoca’s city centre at 8 o’clock in the morning, where a minibus/coach will be waiting for you. The location for the pick-up is on Avram Iancu Street, no 26-28 (in front of the Central Cemetery Entrance), you can find the directions here.
